Spring fever

By Shirley Biggs, Head Image Consultant, Dress2kill Ltd.

Spring really is just around the corner, here are some styling and fabric predictions from Dress2Kill for the months ahead.

Suits

Revival of the sharply cut two or three button, single breasted suit with a touch of 1970's elegance.

Styling

Features include nipped-in waists, working cuffs, narrow lapels and plain front trousers, or a classic 1960's edge for a more formal option.

Fabrics will be lightweight pure wools, or linen and cotton for the fashion led.

Morning Suits

For the formal wedding, a total look in silver grey or graphite is toppling the ubiquitous black jacket and striped trousers from the top of the popularity pole.

One very strong trend to emerge is the 'tropical' wedding: marriage under azure skies in a sunny warm climate with St. Lucia, Barbados, the Maldives and South Africa being the most sought after locations.

For these auspicious occasions we suggest styling inspired by the French Riviera, Havana and Cuba; colours to be in vibrant whites and natural shades of cream, beige, stone and honey in fabrics like cotton gabardine, cotton cashmere and linen.

If the occasion is informal, we suggest patch pockets on unstructured jackets, wide legged trousers and sea island cotton open necked shirts.
